We're Growing: Come Join Us
Throughout history, America's public libraries have grown into flexible institutions - reflective of the times and chameleon-like in their responses to social changes.
In the same manner, your public library strives to meet the library and information service needs of dynamic citizens who call the vibrant, centrally located South Jersey community of Pennsauken home.
People have a great responsibility for ensuring the quality of life in a community such as ours. It is for this reason that your Pennsauken Free Public Library would like to encourage further participation and support from its citizenry regarding library planning and services. There are numerous ways that citizen participation can assist your growing library.
Attend Board Meetings - Meet the library policy-makers who are appointed by the Mayor. Board meetings are once a month and your attendance is always welcome.
Become a Volunteer - Volunteers are skilled adults who have a desire to join our evolving library volunteer staff to participate in carrying out programs and services.
Join the Friends Group - I would like to invite residents to join the Friends of the Pennsauken Library, a non-profit library advocacy organization. They help the library by conducting fund-raisers and sponsoring programs.
Nearly 600 people daily visit the Pennsauken Library. The "cyber-library" of the future or the complete virtual library experience via the computer will soon be a reality. In essence, the successful evolution of our library will continue to have one constant: the participation and support of Pennsauken people with vision.
